Just a few days ago, we were talking about Michael Pachter’s prediction that Microsoft would raise the price of Xbox LIVE Gold memberships to $100 “in a couple years.” Working at blazing internet speeds, Kombo tracked down Microsoft spokesperson David Dennis during a sales call and asked about the speculation.
Seeming to stoke the fire of the debate, Dennis commented, “I don’t foresee a scenario where we’re going to double the price of LIVE anytime in the next couple months.”
We will keep an eye on anything further that comes down the pipe about this issue, as we do not want to take anything out of context. However, journalistic integrity aside, a couple months sure does outpace Pachter’s estimate of several years.
