Some days ago Epic was teasing an “Unreal” announcement with the image above. With Unreal Engine 4 not set to debut until the next generation, and the Unreal Tournament franchise shelved for a while, people were left scratching their heads as to what it could be. Joystiq now thinks they may have the answer thanks to a mole, who has reported accurately before, who says the big announcement is Epic releasing an Unreal Engine 3 toolset to the consumer. According to the mole, the toolset, which will likely come with a little price tag, will ship with example objects like weapons and maps, but the ultimate goal is of course letting everyone create their own assets.
