Unigine has released what they say is the first DirectX 11 benchmark based on their game engine of the same name. Called “Heaven,” the benchmark shows off all kinds of interesting things like tessellation technology, advanced screen-space ambient occlusion, volumetric cumulonimbus clouds generated by a physically accurate algorithm, and dynamic simulation of changing environment with high physical fidelity. I’m not going pretend I know what the hell I just said but that did sound rather impressive, didn’t it?
“Heaven” can be downloaded here, though if you lack the latest and greatest hardware, there’s a video of the benchmark in action below, and that’s almost as good. Ok, maybe not.
