Netflix rumoured to hit PS3 soon
BY Chris Barraclough Oct. 25th, 2009 More on:

Netflix shares hit a new high on Friday with the company’s announcement that their movie download service would soon be available through a device already owned by a large number of consumers. While the PS3 wasn’t specifically mentioned, it makes sense that Sony’s console would be next to offer movies on demand and this is the conclusion most analysts have reached.

Since Netflix was introduced on Xbox 360 last September, the company has gained an extra 2.4 million subscribers. They’re predicting an additional 900,000 to 1.2 million customers will join in their final quarter, propelled by the upcoming deal. Netflix also revealed that 42 percent of subscribers streamed at least 15 minutes of video in the third quarter, compared to just 22 percent at the same time last year.

I was really looking forward to this, and then I had to go and move overseas where Netflix doesn’t exist. I still have a US account and a US credit card… think it would work?
