With Netflix arriving on the PlayStation 3 next month, many have wondered out loud if Microsoft would be willing to drop Xbox Live Gold’s subscription fee in response. Uh yeah, seems like the short answer to that is no. According to a spokesperson for Microsoft, the Xbox Live experience justifies a monthly charge because it’s “a generation ahead of what others are offering.” In addition to online multiplayer and early demos, the rep points to such examples as Twitter and Facebook. But last time we checked, we could use those services on our PCs, for free. And with the PS3 starting to catch up in both sales and features, the “next-gen” claim is already getting, well, old.

Sigh…old news…Microsoft yet again being arrogant and jealous that all there power the 360 once had is being taken away by Sony…they’ve lost their good games, they’ve lsot their sales lead in the US, and there about to lose netflix exclusivelty of course they have to do something to stop the bleeding, typical PR BS. microsoft admit that you suck sony’s balls
