Apple receives Doom Classic for review
BY Brian Dahlquist Oct. 29th, 2009 More on:

For people tired of killing nazis waiting for the bus to arrive, slaying demons in hell (or Mars, or Mars’ version of hell - I lose track) will soon be an option. John Carmack, co-founder and code guru of id Software, has sent Doom Classic to Apple for final review before the game is released for the iPhone and iPod touch.

Doom Classic will feature several changes from Wolfenstein 3D including wi-fi multiplayer and possibly losing the tilt-to-turn control style that was an optional style of play in the prior game. The graphics will also not be receiving an update for all those purists out there. A variety of other in-depth (and I mean in-depth) specs about the pint sized first-person shooter are available on id’s website.
