PlayStation Home “not a priority right now”
BY Chad George Oct. 29th, 2009 More on:

Peter Edward, director of PlayStation Home, said at the London Games Conference that while users are still active in their virtual world, Home is not a priority at this time. Odd, since last June he said that it would become “an essential component for all PS3 games.

“It’s been a long road,” he said. ” We’ve proved there is a market out there and we’ve got a lot of people that spend a lot of time in [Home]. It’s not a priority right now but there is a business model there.”

In August, Edward said at the Develop conference that European users spend about 56 minutes within Home. There was no breakdown of how much of that time is spent downloading the updated spaces each time or waiting for items to load.
