If Matt Hazard: Blood Bath and Beyond came into my house and said “Hello” and then started to ramble on while apologizing for Eat Lead not being so great, I’d wait a while and then at the exact opportune moment tell it to shut up, because it had me at hello. 2D shooting excitement with tongue firmly planted in cheek? Sign me up, please.

Below we have some new screens showing off what we can expect from the spin-off, and below those a trailer showing off some more. The gameplay looks solidly retro, even if it isn’t the prettiest thing we’ve ever seen. Hopefully it will stand up to the original’s great voice acting and hilarious script while actually having some gameplay people will enjoy instead of,  you know, the gameplay of Eat Lead. I’m way too hopeful about this game, aren’t I?
