I’ve heard there is a leaked level of Modern Warfare 2 that has some pretty controversial stuff in it. I’ve avoided the spoiler like the plauge. I may be the last gamer on earth not to know what is going down, but I’m damn happy about it because I’m damn excited about the game. It looks like I’m not the only one either. MW2 has broken the pre-order record at GameStop by… well, we don’t have any official numbers yet, but it broke the record evidently.

I’m not sure if this is a surprise to anyone. The immense amount of hype around this game, coupled with the almost guaranteed quality and a massive marketing campaign should have let everyone know that this thing was going to be breaking some records. Now it just has to usurp GTA4 at launch and become the biggest videogame launch ever by selling 3.6 million copies and bringing in $310 million on launch day. If those night vision goggle editions fly off the shelf then I don’t think that goal will be too hard.
