Nintendo launching a test program for WiiWare demos
BY Rain Anderson Nov. 3rd, 2009 More on:

Nintendo will be launching a test program for WiiWare demos some time this month, CEO Satoru Iwata told investors at a recent earnings briefing. The move is made to see if providing users with playable demos could possibly widen the WiiWare market, which Iwata admits, along with DSi Ware, is small.

Iwata mentioned that releasing demos is not necessarily the answer, but with Wii Shopping Channel and DSi Shop only being browsed by people who already know exactly what they’re going to buy, guess they know they have to do something to try and increase sales.

The test program will involve only a few games, though since there’s no official announcement, the names of those games and any dates when the program will start on remain unknown for now.
