Revised Sky Player rollout adds tens of thousands daily
BY Rain Anderson Nov. 3rd, 2009 More on:

The launch of the Sky Player didn’t go too smoothly for Microsoft last week. Plagued with “unprecedented levels of simultaneous demand,” the company was forced to disable the service and announced that the the roll-out would be implemented in phases instead.

A post by Xbox Europe’s Community Manager Graeme ‘AceyBongos’ Boyd on the official Xbox forums now informs that, as a part of their “revised rollout” plan, “tens of thousands” of customers are given access to the service every day until no one’s left out.

“We are taking this phased approach to ensure that consumers experience a high-quality experience. The Sky team has contacted the affected Sky Player TV subscribers on Xbox directly with further updates.”
