The rumor mill was right again for a change — Epic’s mysterious teaser last month was indeed about the company making the Unreal Engine 3 toolset available to the public. And unless used for commercial purposes, the toolset, called Unreal Development Kit (UDK), is available to anyone and everyone for free.

All the detailed features, docs, commercial licensing terms, sample projects etc, and the UDK itself are available to view and download from udk.com.
