Battlefield: Bad Company 2 going “head to head” with Modern Warfare 2
BY Rain Anderson Nov. 10th, 2009 More on:

During yesterday’s fiscal Q2 results conference call, Frank Gibeau, President of the EA Games label, made it clear once more that Modern Warfare 2 is in Bad Company 2’s sights. As Gibeau was lining up upcoming titles based on EA’s original intellectual properties — Army of Two: The 40th Day, Dante’s Inferno, Battlefield: Bad Company 2 — he said, “In March, DICE will release Battlefield Bad Company 2 with all new destructible environments, expanded vehicle combat, and deep new online play with dedicated server support,” not missing an opportunity to once more bring up the lack of dedicated servers in MW2.

“We believe this will put Battlefield in head to head competition with Call of Duty for quality and online game play,” he said.

Gibeau also reminded those listening in on the call of another game in the Battlefield series, Battlefield 1943, and how it has become the best selling Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network game ever after being released back in July.

bad company is an awesome game but i don’t think it’ll give mw2 a run for its money…. its good competition but mw2 has the fps locked down for the moment….

I gotta agree with LOL@FANBOYS I think that bad company will be a great game, but to say it’s going to compete with MW2 is pretty far fetched. MW2 is probably the most anticipated game of the year, bad company is not nearly as big of a game, but who knows maybe when it hits shelves people will go ape nuts over it!

DICE is a great developer. I’m pretty sure they got something good up their sleeve. And dedicated servers makes this a winner over MW2 by default imho. Personally I have not finished singleplayer in an FPS since Unreal II. It’s all about the multiplayer action. ;D

This will kick modern warfare 2 ’s aging recycled 3d engine’s butt looks bloody awesome and I’m a hardcore world at war fan, this thing will piss over mw2’s 9v9 crappy IW network no problem in fact this looks like what mw2 should have been
