Valve wants to know where your thumb is
BY Chad George Nov. 11th, 2009 More on:

Getting tired of your neighbors thinking you’re just a regular person? Enjoy dressing up in makeup and tattered clothing, even after Halloween has passed, to win stuff? Well then, Valve has got just the contest for you.

Announcing the return of the “Dude, Where’s My Thumb?” contest, Valve is once again tasking fans to take creative photos of themselves within sight of one of their outdoor advertisements. Located in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Seattle, Miami, Phoenix, Dallas, Minneapolis, and the San Francisco Bay Area, the out of home advertising campaign has been expanded to give more people a chance to enter and win. The entries, all reviewed and judged by the president and founder of Valve, Gabe Newell, will be eligible for prizes, with the top 25 entries garnering an autographed copy of Left 4 Dead 2 and the overall winner taking home an “infected” hand-painted, custom engraved Xbox 360 console.

“Last year’s out of home media campaign proved to be one of the most effective vehicles for helping land Left 4 Dead on 2008’s top 10 seller list in the North America,” said Doug Lombardi, vice president of marketing at Valve. “Valve has once again partnered with Gibson Media to execute the Left 4 Dead 2 out of home campaign and extend it to more markets across the US.”

If you enter, let us know. We would love to make fun of you… um, see what idea you came up with.

This contest fails because it doesn’t include Philadelphia. BOYCOTT!
