Eminem oldie climbs the charts due to Modern Warfare 2
BY Sebastian Nordlund Nov. 15th, 2009 More on:

In an unsurprising turn of events, Eminem’s “‘Till I Collapse” featuring Nate Dogg has climbed back to a “Top” chart after its appearance in Infinity Ward’s launch trailer for Modern Warfare 2. Despite the song being 7 years old, it’s climbed all the way to the Top 40 on iTunes, and is currently battling it out with 50 Cent and Jay-Z on the Hip-Hop/Rap list as well.

This goes to show that aural elements, like music, are just as important as the visual parts of any videogame, and it helps if they’re mashed up in a well-produced trailer. You don’t have to be called EA, Activision, Neversoft, Harmonix or MTV to be able to transmit music into people’s souls through videogames… just make a controversial war game and you’re set for success.
