Nintendo rolled out a trial demo service for a limited number of WiiWare titles today. Six levels of Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a Darklord and the first levels of Bit.Trip.Beat and NyxQuest: Kindred Spirits are now available to download on your Wii for free.

Think of the service as Nintendo dipping their toe in the demo waters. This is very much a trial. Indeed, speaking at an earnings briefing earlier this month, Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata told investors he wasn’t convinced that demos are the way to promote WiiWare games and that most people that use the service already know what they are going to buy.

Time will tell whether or not he’s right. The demo trial ends on Jan. 31, 2010.
