Capcom gives Resident Evil 5 new episodes, new clothing
BY Chad George Nov. 19th, 2009 More on:

Capcom today announced a ton of new stuff for Resident Evil 5 on the Xbox 360 and PS3 that will be hitting next year. Two new episodes - Lost in Nightmares and the other yet to be titled, - a bunch of new costumes like the one seen above, and a new Mercenaries Reunion mode featuring eight new playable characters and weapon load outs. The first set of clothing and Lost in Nightmares will be available for download starting February 2010 with the remainder following in March.

The first episode, Lost in Nightmares, sets the freakishly bicep endowed Chris Redfield, and his partner Jill Valentine, on an investigation of Ozwell Spencer’s hideaway. Spencer, of course, has been up to no good and has a new evil hiding deep in his mansion’s basement, which Chris and Jill just happen to encounter as they make their way deep into the catacombs beneath the mansion.

At the same time as the release of the first episode, Capcom will drop new costumes for both Chris and Sheva. No word on what those costumes might be, but if the picture above is any indication, I doubt we will be asking, “Where’s Me Jumper?” Not only will we be able to play and see cut-scenes with new threads, the Mercenaries Reunion will also hit at the same time, giving us new characters and weapon load outs for added challenge while shooting the maximum amount of enemies in the allotted time.

If you don’t have access to the internet, have an aversion to virtual goods, or, like me, prefer to actually hold things in your hand, Capcom has those bases covered too, but you will have to wait a bit. While those who download the items can get them when released, things take a bit longer to burn to a disc, so expect to hold on for about five days in the US and nine days in the UK. At least, that is what this chart says.
