Back before Dragon Age: Origins was being heralded as the comeback of the traditional PC single player RPG a-la Baldur’s Gate, a game called The Witcher had already beat them to the punch back in 2007. A PC exclusive brought out by a new, small Polish developer by the name of CD Projekt and based on a Polish fantasy novel series that wasn’t even translated into English at the time didn’t exactly seem like a recipe for success, but for someone who spent a whole lot of time playing games like Icewind Dale, The Witcher was a godsend. Two years of nearly unprecedented support from the developer later, We’re finally getting some more info on The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, including this leaked footage from a Russian games convention.
I don’t speak Russian, so I have no idea what the guy is saying, but what is obvious from this video even from the low quality is that the game is going to look fantastic. It also looks a little more like an action RPG given the pattern based boss shown in the footage, which might worry some fans, but hopefully the game will be as PC gamer focused as the first game.
