Microsoft executive Tom Burt may have just beaten everyone else to the punch by being the first to unintentionally out the next Project Gotham Racing title. “A team of sound engineers from Microsoft Game Studios (some working on Forza, some on Project Gotham Racing) asked if I was willing to take my Roadster to a track so they could record a variety of sounds,” Burt wrote on a blog post on car manufacturer Tesla Motors’ site.

We’ll keep this in the rumor pile until the official confirmation comes — which isn’t today; when asked about Burt’s comments, Microsoft offered up the usual ‘no comments on rumor and speculation’ line — but whenever the title is expected to hit, we expect it to be somewhat of a departure from the previous games, with the series’ developer Bizarre now being with Activision developing their own new racing IP Blur and all.
