Zombie MMO shuffling towards console gamers |

Zombies are coming to eat my brains and I have no idea why. I have always been a staunch supporter of zombie rights, yet they keeping coming at me from my videogames. From zombified Nazis to bozoified zombies, there seems to be no escaping the undead in the gaming world except for the warm embrace of MMOs - until now.
Undead Labs has been formed to end the safe haven of the MMO world with their first game, a massively multiplayer online zombie game (MMOZ) aimed at console gamers. Founded by former NCSoft product development president Jeff Strain, who previously had programmed for Diablo, StarCraft, and was part of the initial development team on World of Warcraft before founding ArenaNet, they guy knows his stuff. His development company has set out to create a MMO filled with action and humor, as well as tons of zombies, to end the endless debate all movies of that genre spark.
“Every time I see a good zombie movie with friends, we spend days debating our strategies for surviving the zombie apocalypse,” said Strain. “The police station or the supermarket? Garden rake or staple gun? Bach or The White Stripes? I’m a game developer, so I’d probably be useless for anything other than ghoul bait, but I’m excited to have the opportunity to build an MMOZ that lets us put those strategies to the test and find out for sure.”
No release date has been given but I’m sure updates will flow like cerebral fluid from zombie victims in the coming weeks and months. Until then, check out the Undead Labs website and start stocking up on supplies.

I dont really see how a zombie MMO can be made. Other than eating brains for the zombies and killing zombies for the humans, there doesn’t seem to be much depth to it. Will certainly looks to see how it all pans out though.

@Ryan - I am not an MMO guy in the slightest, but this could change my thinking if done right. Of course they are being tight lipped about any details, but I am keeping this one on my radar.
