Xbox 360’s controller “a big reason” why Ruffian’s sticking with Microsoft

Creative Director Billy Thomson of Crackdown 2 developer Ruffian Games says his preference for the Xbox 360 controller is “a big reason” why the developer right now is exclusive to Microsoft’s system. “… I prefer the 360 controller which is a big reason for sticking with the 360,” Thomson said in a recent interview.

Of course, a controller can’t possibly be the only thing to dictate business decisions. “We’ve been working with Microsoft for a long time so we have a lot of experience with the 360 but not so much with the PS3,” explains Producer James Cope, saying the UK-based company doesn’t think of themselves as staying exclusive to the Xbox 360 forever. “As a company we have to keep things open and think about how to survive without Microsoft sometime in the future but that doesn’t mean we’re set in our ways. We’re happy with the situation at the moment.”

“We don’t contain ourselves in any way,” he adds, saying they want to “make great games on any console.”
