The surprise Final Fantasy XIII special content that Microsoft held a Twitterthon over following the game’s western release date announcement has now been revealed to be a Chocobo Avatar item. In a pretty unique marketing campaign, the item was gradually unlocked as more and more people retweeted a message with with a “FFXIIIXBOX” hashtag in it.

Now to actually get the Chocobo, you’ll have to head over to xbox.com (US, EU) and register to receive the item. Once done, a code to redeem the Chocobo will be sent to the email associated with your Xbox Live some time next month. Easy as one, two, tweet!
