Nintendo downloads for the week of Nov. 30

What the hell, Nintendo? Two weeks of massive downloads! Is someone trying to capture the download market this holiday season? Well, you’re going to have to try a little harder. While last week’s epic releases were exactly that, this week does not shine as brightly. Despite the fact that there are ten whole downloads.

WiiWare kicks off the week with a strong release in Tales of Monkey Island: Chapter 4 (Telltale Games, Players: 1, E 10+ – Cartoon Violence, Mild Language, Suggestive Themes, Use of Alcohol, 1,000 Wii Points), but then pretty much looks sad. My Zoo (Publisher: Hudson Entertainment, Players: 1, E, 500 Wii Points) is a Hudson-developed zoo simulator that sounds about as robust as a cheap DS game. Copter Crisis (Digital Leisure Inc., Players: 1, E – Mild Violence, 500 Wii Points) looks somewhat intriguing and has DLC you pay for in the form of extra helicopters, but probably blows. Finally, Christmas Clix (JV Games Inc., Players: 1, E, 1,000 Wii Points) is a Christmas-themed, music puzzle game. It could be fun, but not for ten bucks.

DSiWare returns with something that is a little interesting. Foto Face: The Face Stealer Strikes (Electronic Arts, Players: 1, E – Mild Cartoon Violence, 800 Nintendo DSi Points) allows you to use the DSi to capture faces and put them in the platforming game. Could be some fun to beat up on yourself. Bookworm (PopCap Games, Inc., Players: 1, E, 500 Nintendo DSi Points) is the annoyingly addictive PopCap game of the same name in DS form, and should be downloaded quickly. The other two games, Master of Illusion Express: Mind Probe (Nintendo, Players: 1, E, 200 Nintendo DSi Points) and Sudoku Challenge! (Digital Leisure Inc., Players: 1, E, 500 Nintendo DSi Points), you can most likely avoid.

This leaves us with the VC. It’s got two lesser known classics in the form of The Combatribes (Super NES, Aksys Games, Players: 1-2, E 10+ – Violence, 800 Wii Points), a not so well known, but ridiculously fun brawler, and Solomon’s Key (Arcade, TECMO, Players: 1-2, E (Everyone, 600 Wii Points) and action puzzler of some repute.
