Battlefield 3 and Mirror’s Edge 2 have both been found listed under the 2009-present section of DICE lighting artist Oscar Carlen’s portfolio. Publisher EA has been talking about both games pretty openly in the past — EA’s Patrick Soderlund has said that another Mirror’s Edge is coming “for sure” while Battlefield 3 “is looking very good” according to John Pleasants — but following these tidbits until the official reveal *cough*Dead Space 2*cough* is always fun, isn’t it?

Though it is possible that anything could be cancelled in the current layoff storm at EA, I’d like to think Mirror’s Edge 2 was always an inevitability. The first game was a truly ambitious take on the FPS genre, and one that definitely deserves further attention.
