After already bringing in $550 million in sales in its first five days on the market and becoming the biggest launch in entertainment history, Modern Warfare 2 is still not letting up and has now been awarded the ELSPA diamond sales award.

The Xbox 360 version of MW2 has become just the 16th game to receive the diamond sales award, which is given to games selling over one million units in the UK. While the 360 game has sold over one million copies since its release, the PlayStation 3 game has held its own and has sold over 600,000 copies, which granted it a double platinum sales award.

Other games that have received the ELSPA diamond sales award include Dr. Kawashima’s Brain Training, New Super Mario Bros, Wii Play, Mario Kart Wii and Halo 3, along with the original Call of Duty: Modern Warfare on the Xbox 360.
