EA has made the PC/PS3/360 sequel to their 2008 sci-fi scarefest official today and announced that in the second game, protagonist Isaac will be going on the offensive — guess he didn’t take too kindly to his lady friend being dead and all.
Developer Visceral Games promises new tools with which to slice and dice new enemies up with, along with “epic zero-G environments,” and plenty of plot twists. Steve Papoutsis, the game’s Executive Producer, explains the setting, “The infection continues to spread throughout space and our hero Isaac Clarke is the only person able to contain it. There are still loads of Necromorphs that need killing. In Dead Space 2, not everything is exactly as it seems. Expect plot twists that will surprise you and a huge cast of twisted, disgusting monsters that are sure to scare the daylights out of you.”
The announcement has no mention of a release date, though Fall 2010 sounds like safe speculation. But that’s just a guess for now, of course.
And we get no media assets either, I’m afraid. Have to hang tight a bit longer for a first look.
