Xbox Live social apps now available to all except U.S. children

Major Nelson announced via his blog that the previously announced update to the social applications on Xbox Live has been released to all countries except for the U.S. Americans. The update will now allow users with a child account, with parental permission, to access the recently added Facebook, Twitter, and applications.

Those with U.S.-based accounts will receive the update on December 15, when the links suddenly appear on the dashboard. Parental permission is still required and Nelson reminds us to set the options to automatically log in, or choose Remember Me, or else the parents will have to grant permission each time the program is launched.
