Borderlands sells 2 million worldwide
BY Rain Anderson Dec. 17th, 2009 More on:

Take-Two’s financial results for its fourth quarter and fiscal year ending October 31, 2009 show that the Gearbox-developed Borderlands has sold over two million copies worldwide since its launch in October. Take-Two again calls it a key franchise for which they hold long-term publishing rights.

The game has already received one piece of downloadable content, with the second one, the recently announced Mad Moxxi’s Underdome Riot, arriving later this month.

Yes, we will be seeing sequels. I just hope they’ll add an actual story the second time around to go with the loot collecting fun.

couldn’t be happier to hear this. it wasn’t a game without it’s faults but it definitely deserves a sequel. there’s a lot of potential here for Borderlands to become a major franchise.

having laid the groundwork, the sequel should (hopefully) be more like what the developers had originally envisioned.
