Futuremark has given a quick update on the status of their games studio and its workforce. Following posts from two ex staffers who said their goodbyes to the community on Monday, a community manager has now clarified what’s happening a bit. Echoing what the ex staffers said a few days ago, support for the studio’s first and only game, the zero gravity shooter Shattered Horizon, shall continue without interruption.
“We want to let everyone know that our plans for supporting Shattered Horizon and its community are unaffected by recent changes at Futuremark,” the community manager said. “It is fairly common in the games industry after finishing a major project for a studio to reduce staffing a bit from the large team required to launch a game.”
“A core team within Futuremark Games Studio continues to develop the free Moonrise expansion pack. All four of the new levels are already being tested.”
Futuremark’s future gaming plans and details on the Moonrise expansion are said to be released next year.

No one has specified. Futuremark just referred us to the forum post when we asked for details. None of the comments the ex employees have made sounded bitter or anything, so I’m guessing everyone got paid for their work. Their services just weren’t needed for the time being it sounds like…
