Current-gen games to get cheaper, Capcom reckons
BY Rain Anderson Dec. 25th, 2009 More on:

In a recent investor Q&A session, Capcom said they expect the software for current-gen consoles to get cheaper over time. “We believe that further declines in prices of consoles will cause a slow decline in prices of software as well,” a Capcom rep said when asked about their outlook for current gen machines. “But we expect to see a rebound in software prices when the next generation of consoles goes on sale.”

The session also touched on why the company decided to delay some of its major titles, “This was a strategic decision. Capcom uses an approach that combines management and development to reach various decisions. Consequently, we would not decide to postpone the launch of a title for reasons that involve only the game development side of our business.”

er…that last coment makes NO SENSE, if there is problems with development…there saying they wouldnt delay it, unless marketing reasons followed as well….

what!! if there problems fix them, and dont release it till there sorted.

never liked capcom too much either, they milked street fighter…..resi evil to death..resis been milked now , a few years ago i would have said just steet fighter..

ok..they published okami, and thats different, but i h8 companies who dont try new things.

loosers, they made no money this year anyway,.

      to get cheaper!? NO WAY!
Their games may go cheaper but not for other developers!

Originally current gen games are meant to cost £50, but thanks to every e-commerce sites, no one is selling it for that price but for £39. £50 is hard to earn, who da f* would wanna pay half of £100 just for a game.
Worst thing is, these games are only Single Player mode with no DLC.

F***ng Darksider is this! No DLC, multiplayer or unlockables, just Sinlge Player. And these greedy fools wants us to pay £39 for it and worst yet, no Demo.

      I don’t think so son!

Well most games come down in price anyway. This year, I’ve not paid over £20 for a game. As for DLC, I don’t bother with it. And as most people are daft enough to pay full price for games, why should they have to pay for DLC? Swap your games, part exchange them, buy used. Basically, bolt your head on…

so is that why capcom games along with activision games are the only ones that have a RRP of 120 bucks?
all games except games published by capcom or activision normally retail for 100 bucks but every single capcom or activision game is 120.
like DMC4, resident evil 5, street fighter IV, dark void, COD MW2, prototype, Xmen origins wolveriene.
i dont get it, some of the years best games like uncharted 2, assassins creed 2, ratchet and clank a crack in time, the GOW collection, inFAMOUS, killzone 2 all cost me 100 bucks on release day.
but crappy games like DMC4, resident evil 5, street fighter IV, dark void, COD MW2, prototype, Xmen origins wolveriene cost 120?
so let me get this straight good games cost 100 bucks and bad games cost 120?
      WTF?
where is the logic in that?

dont prejudge a game, darksiders is looking fucking amazing!
who gives a crap if it does not have MP?
uncharted did not have MP was that worth the release price?
how about inFAMOUS, or assassins creed 2 or R&C ACIT or batman AA.
im sick of people dissing games just because they dont have MP.
in fact 99.99% of times games that dont have MP are better than games that do.
look at bioshock, one of my favorite games of all time that did not have MP.
now bioshock 2 does and 50K says it wont be half as good as its predecessor.
