As several sponsors have dropped Tiger Woods over his well publicized personal life drama, EA will be sticking with him. EA Sports boss Peter Moore has written on his blog that despite the golf star’s “mistakes off the course” the company will continue creating games bearing his name. EA’s “relationship with Tiger has always been rooted in golf.”
“At EA SPORTS, we make authentic sports simulations,” Moore writes. “When we say “It’s in the Game”, it is not just a tag line but a statement about the quality and authenticity of the game experience. Tiger Woods PGA TOUR Online is truly representative of that rallying cry, and a game that all of us at EA SPORTS are proud to be delivering this month to sports fans around the globe.”
The browser-based Tiger Woods PGA TOUR Online, the latest game bearing Woods’ name, has been in a closed beta for eight months now and is getting an open beta later in the month.
