Nintendo’s December was a good one

Looks like Nintendo of America had itself a very merry little Christmas. The company has announced that according to their estimates, the Wii sold through three million units in December (we’ll know for sure once the NPD figures arrive in nine days). Next to that little feat, the company also reckons that New Super Mario Bros. Wii sales are approaching four million copies sold and that their DS line-up set a new all-time calendar-year US sales record for any console or hand-held system.

Earlier today, Nintendo announced some European figures as well — 2.5 million copies NSMBW, 40 million DSs, 20 million Wiis.
