DICE’s Gordon Van Dyke has confirmed the previously rumored January 28 start for Battlefield: Bad Company 2‘s PC beta, also offering up a few additional details. The beta includes the snowy Port Valdez (pictured) which allows for both infantry and vehicle play, and allows players to try out the Rush game mode.
To gain access, pre-ordering the game from either EA’s own online store or GameStop are the only sure bets at the moment. Other retailers will be participating as well, and there will be “alternate channels” to get a beta key, though Van Dyke says those details are still being finalized.
To actually download the beta, keep an eye on the dedicated beta page which will get updated with instructions closer to the start date.
The beta will end on February 25, about a week before the launch of the game itself in early March.
