While the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 are set and already have the popular rental service available, there have only been rumors of Netflix coming to Nintendo’s Wii. But if the words of Netflix CEO Reed Hastings are to be believed, the Wii won’t be the odd console out anymore. During CES, when asked about it, Hastings said that the possibilities of seeing Netflix on Nintendo’s console are “excellent.” However, note that Nintendo was possibly referred to as Nintendo, the company, rather than Wii, the console. An unfortunate choice of words indeed, seeing as the aforementioned rumors are that Netflix will first be available on the also rumored, Wii HD.
We wouldn’t mind betting some dough on a Netflix/Nintendo union happening some day in the future, but for now, we’ll hang on to our benjamins as to when this will occur. Keep this one under the rumor radar.
