Microsoft planning to sell millions of Natals this year

Microsoft is hoping to get millions of Project Natal units into the consumer’s hands before the end of the year, according to Director of Product Management Aaron Greenberg. “We think that there will be millions of Natals in consumer’s homes this holiday,” he told Joystiq, yet again reiterating that the motion control add-on will work with all 39 million Xbox 360s on the market today.

Microsoft has likened Natal’s upcoming holiday 2010 launch to that of a new console so, considering the massive amounts of advertising they’re bound to do coupled with the tidbit that the company sold 2.3 million Xbox 360’s in the holiday season of 2009, it doesn’t seem like an overly wild suggestion to make at all.
