Update: The delay applies to the Japanese market only. PAL date coming “in due course”.
Original story: Nope, that’s not a typo. Polyphony Digital’s Gran Turismo 5, the $60,000,000 racing sim that was announced back in 2006, has once again been pushed back. No time frame was given as the game was slapped with a big ol’ “TBA” sticker, nor was a reason given for the delay, but Sony did extend their apologies for any inconvenience the delay may cause.
This news is even more baffling when you consider that series creator Kazunori Yamauchi said in September that the games release was “not too far“. My best guess is that Sony wants to hold off on releasing what might be their biggest PS3 release yet until the holidays, which would peg Mr. Yamauchi’s definition of “not too far” at over a year.
