With increasing pressure from Microsoft’s Project Natal and Sony’s own motion capture solution would it surprise you to find out that Nintendo has no plans for a Wii successor anytime soon? Well don’t be surprised because Nintendo’s Reggie Fils-Aime has full confidence in their little white box. “We are confident the Wii home entertainment console has a very long life in front of it,” he told Newsweek.
Those worried about the Wii being the lesser home entertainment offering will be glad to know that by adding Netflix this spring, Nintendo is soon ticking off that box. But as for HD gaming content, doesn’t look like that’s happening. Not “in the coming months” at least, as NW reports Fils-Aime as saying.
