When it comes to being able to pummel characters from popular franchises no one does it quite like the chaps at Capcom. Having already punched their way through familiar faces from the likes of Marvel and SNK, an all-new franchise could be in sight for the series. Capcom has hinted that we may see a fresh set of characters to kick the stuffing out of in a new something vs. Capcom game.
The probability of this coming to fruition hinges very much on the sales of their upcoming Wii fighter Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars. Ryo Niitsuma, producer on Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, has said he “would love to do more versus series, more types of games like Marvel vs. Capcom 2 … If sales are really good (for Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars) then you can see an announcement within this year.”
Apparently Capcom aren’t short on ideas either; “We get requests from fans to mix our characters with other video game characters all of the time,” says Ryo Niitsuma, “based on those requests we might be able to do something with our characters and another company’s characters for a future game.” Personally I would put down actual money for a Characters of Roald Dahl vs Capcom game. That could definitely work, maybe.
