‘A tremendous amount of interest’ in making a Mass Effect film

When a franchise like Mass Effect is already a cinematic experience in itself, why not make it into a movie? It seems Mass Effect project director Casey Hudson is fully aware of that as there’s been plenty of attentiveness revolving around a possible Mass Effect film.

“Obviously we have a tremendous amount of interest from people in Hollywood to make a major motion picture about ‘Mass Effect,'” Hudson told MTV, but simply making a movie isn’t enough he says. “The most important thing for us is, we don’t just want to see a movie get made. We want to see a great movie get made, if it’s going to get done at all.”

There may be a ton of interest of but BioWare isn’t too concerned about one specific plan of action, “We’re just looking at our options there, but waiting to make sure we have something really right before we do it.” With Mass Effect’s RPG nature, literally anyone could play the lead protagonist and though nothing about the film’s development has necessarily started, the casting of of Commander Shepard could be very interesting.
