Oh, Twitter, you amaze us with how useless you can be and, at the same time, so darn valuable. Just a few years ago, companies would have to send a minion to deliver the news of a game in development through websites and email; now, with just 140 characters, the intertubes are set ablaze. Today, Criterion is the tweeter – twitterer? – in question with a short message about the upcoming Need for Speed game.
“NFS will be shown for the first time today at internal Electronic Arts meeting! Let’s put the pedal to the metal and hit it….!”
For those of us who really want the Need for Speed series to succeed, this is great news. The games have been left adrift for several years and, seeing that the game’s “quality suffered,” the franchise was turned over to the Burnout creators this past November.
