First-party Nintendo titles still selling by the bucketload

Satoru Iwata isn’t president of one of Japan’s biggest companies for nothing. Last year, the Nintendo head-honcho predicted that New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Wii Sports Resort and Wii Fit Plus all had the “potential to surpass 10 million copies worldwide” before the end of the year. And guess what? They did just that.

According to an official Nintendo report (via VG247), Wii Fit Plus sold over 10.1 million units since its release in Oct., while Wii Sports Resort has shifted over a staggering 13.5 million units. New Super Mario Bros. Wii has moved 10.5 million units since November.

The figures, based on lifetime-to-date data, were released today by Nintendo for the period Apr. 1, 2009 to Dec. 31, 2009.

Them’s some good numbers.
