Live service going dark for original Xboxers

It had to happen sooner or later, right? Via his blog, Xbox Live’s director of programming Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb has announced that April 15 will mark the date when Microsoft will stop supporting Xbox Live for the original Xbox console, as well as its games. While he failed to go into specifics, Nelson cited the need to evolve the Xbox Live service as the reasoning for ending original Xbox support, allowing the company to develop “unprecedented flexibility for future features.”  So yeah, we know that the original Top Spin is still some of the best tennis gaming you’ll find on a console, but it’s time to face time’s immovable march forward and get yourself some updated gaming technology.
