THQ reveals new studios, layoffs

Just coming off the heels of a profitable quarter, THQ has announced that it will be changing up two studios to focus on digital-exclusive games, namely its UK studio Juice Games and Arizona’s Rainbow Studios. Now, the studios will be called THQ Digital Studios Warrington and THQ Digital Studios Phoenix, respectively.

As a result of the changes, THQ is expected to lay off 60 people. The company also expects the first games from both studios to be released in fiscal 2011, with other games in development for platforms that include Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network, iPhone and iPad.
