The next Assassin’s Creed game is taking Ezio to Rome to take the fight to the heart of the Templar Order, a Ubisoft rep revealed during the company’s fiscal year 2009-10 Q3 conference call earlier today. This would be the same game, Assassin’s Creed III we presume, that will also include the yet to be clarified upon multiplayer component — there was some chatter today about friends getting to assassinate each other online but what that exactly entails was left unclear.
The game itself should be out in about a year. And maybe there’ll be another one about a year after that — without committing to turning it into an annual franchise, CEO Yves Guillemot said on the call today that the Assassin’s Creed series is going to see new releases “very often“.
