During an interview before the game’s release, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves‘ community manager Arne Meyer said that if the sequel manages to do better sales wise than the the first game — which at the time was reported to be around 2.5 million — then they’re “set.” Mission accomplished, then.
In an LA Times piece about Naughty Dog’s creative director Amy Hennig it’s noted that Sony has sold through 2.5 million copies of the PlayStation 3-exclusive GOTY scooper to date — a feat accomplished with about four months on the market.
Naturally, there’s more to come; the third game is already “assured,” if not officially announced.

Well clearly you are both COMPLETELY WRONG about uncharted! How can you say it sucks just because YOU have played it! It is critically acclaimed so it clearly is an awesome game. Its just your opinion that the game is rubbish. Your both clearly Xbox idiot fanboys who think every other game other than and xbox 360 exclusive is **** when you really should look outside of the xbox (no pun intened :P) games like resistance 2 little big planet and gran turismo 5 are awesome gamea (when GT5 arrives) and soo is uncharted 2. So dont bother saying “EERRR yeah the ps3 exclusive is obvious rubbish, because if they critically acclaimed by highly rated reviews then there is clearly something about the game that is ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING! And lo and be hold uncharted is easily at the moment the best (3rd person shooter/adventure) ps3 exclusive available to buy, with jaw dropping graphics that make your spine shiver when you see how life like the graphics really are. It really is an outstanding game and for that i apauled Naughty Dog for this amazing game. And for reference im not 100% ps3 fanboy, i just dont like it when idiots like you two think everyother game that is released on ps3 exclusivly is rubbish, unless its something like: halo, gears of war, forza (and the list goes on). They are not bad games its just that the ps3 is competiting quite well with the xbox and i bet MS are sweating cus sony are hot on their heels and are about to overtake them with sales (and of course ps3 exclusives over took the xbox ages ago with metal gear solid 4 back in 2008). I feel that uncharted 2 is an amazing game and clearly the 2.5million sales show this, complete with the highly rated reviews.

Come on :) Commenter Bungie’s comments were clearly made to bring out the extreme of the other side. Just look at the “low poly/low texture rez” bit, it’s a ridiculous comment to make and even he/she knows it. Don’t play along and start another silly fight between the console extremists! :)
It’s a solid game and deserves every dollar it makes.

you’re and idiot. if you think the game has bad graphics you must have been hit on the head and only thought that you were playing it because it has by far the best graphics to date on any console. It saddens me to think that children like these above, bungie etc are the future, i mean to sit behind a screen making childish remarks clearly shows the average 360 owner. i guess we hard working folk that actually make a living can afford a PS3 that is clearly the technology leader in the console war. im pretty disappointed with the sales to be honest. the game of year only gets 2.5 million sales in 4 months while mass effect 2 gets over a million in its first week. fair enough mass effect is on PC and 360 but its still disappointing. it means less then 10% of ps3 owners have bought uncharted 2, wat r the other 90+% doing??? probably playing modern warfare 2.

thank you francis…i use to own the first xbox….but after microsoft abandon it so did i…i too abandon microsoft for there the worst ever company…MONOPOLY at it’s best or worst you can flip that coin..now they have the 360 with a stand alone HD unit ( which lost the format war) which makes it a waste of money…can forget the faceplates (waste of money)…microsoft just makes you waste you money…they create outdated products sell they for the highest price ever then abandon it for another outdated product…the 360 flaw was never fixed so in my eyes there’s no need to buy a defected product…the same product BUNGIE LOVES SO MUCH.

I liked uncharted 2…Although i didnt play it much, but it should have sold more. 2.5 million copies is really nothing, many other games have passed the 2.5 million cap easily. The real reason it hasnt had as much sucess is due to the fact the general public really dont know about the game. In the UK its in all the game stores, but it hasnt really been advertised as it should have. E.g The libery city stories released by rockstar was drummed into the limelight with adverts etc…
I do have both consoles and play on both a lot. The ps3 fanboys are the ones who really know what uncharted 2 is, which itself is a scapegoat. They should have pushed for more adverts i think.

Uncharted 2 wins “GOTY” and “Best Graphics” while 360 games were so low - quality they couldn’t even win………”Best 360 Game”. MEGA LOLZ! Most publications gave “Best 360 Game” to Assassin’s Creed 2 because the 360 doesn’t have any exclusives, much less AAA ones.
I know you 360 fangirls have a lot of spare time on your hands while you’re waiting for the 360 to finally, finally get some exclusive games worth a GOTY award (Don’t hold your breath) but this is just sad. Why don’t you sell your bad graphics, RROD machine and buy a console that has some games actually worth playing? Gran Turismo 5 is going to have graphics better than real life……..Halo: Reach has the same graphics as Halo 2.
