Activision to be “bullish” with new CoD

Activision isn’t expecting to see similar runaway success as they did with Modern Warfare 2 last year, but still intends to be “bullish” with the next title in the shooter series.

Part of the success Modern Warfare 2 saw was said to be because there weren’t many competing products to take away sales. This year however the company expects “a more difficult competitive environment”.

There’s still no official news — just rumors — on who’s developing the new game and what the setting will be, but it was said during the company’s fourth quarter 2009 results conference call today that it will be released during the holiday season this year. Unconfirmed rumors in the past have pointed to a November release.
