Gaming accessory firm Mad Catz has reported their second best sales quarter in the company’s history. With gross profit of $15.9 million and net income of $5.6 million, the company has much to be happy about. “These results reflect our success in aligning the company with some of the industry’s most popular and anticipated titles, and in bringing high-value products to market that enhance the gaming experience,” president and CEO Darren Richardson said of the company’s success.
All kidding aside, Mad Catz’s strong results speak to the huge market for peripherals which has been growing with gaming’s popularity. In 2009 alone, sales of gaming peripherals accounted for an impressive $5 billion in revenue.
