The previous DS successor rumors have received reinforcements; According to sources of French site Gamekult, several game studios have already received their dev kits for the new Nintendo device. Nothing is clarified beyond that, though the new handheld is allegedly heading to store shelves before the year’s out.
Nintendo has openly admitted that they have new hardware in the works in the recent past, and there are several suitable events coming up where it could make an announcement of this magnitude — E3 in June, Game Developers Conference in March, and even their very own Media Summit next Wednesday.
Nothing to do now but play the waiting game, then. EEDAR analyst Jesse Divnich seems certain the new handheld will be out in the next 15 months though.
