EA Sports have stated that they remain “supportive” of Tiger Woods, following today’s public apology.
EA Sports president Peter Moore told Kotaku, “It was good to see Tiger address the public today, and we’re supportive of his focus toward family and rebuilding his life.”
“He remains one of the greatest athletes in history, and as a long-standing partner, we look forward to seeing Tiger back on the golf course when the time is right for him and his family.”
Elsewhere in the statement, senior PR manager Rob Semsey said that EA Sports still intend to release Tiger Woods’ PGA Tour 11 this summer for PS3, 360, Wii and iPhone.
The shamed golfer appeared in front of a small group of journalists earlier today and gave a scripted, yet emotional public apology for his actions (embedded below). It was his first public appearance since details of his extra-marital affairs were revealed.
