Red Steel 2 creative director Jason VandenBerghe doesn’t see a point in developing realistic-looking games for the Wii. “Why compete with the 360?” he asked in an interview conducted on Facebook.
Bringing The Conduit developer High Voltage Software’s “incredible piece of technology” as an example, he says “It’s got to be frustrating … Gamers will see the flaws, not your work. They’re not going to see all the effort you put in.”
His suggestion? Go stylized.
“Any developers working on the Wii, I recommend you stylise the look because it helps. I think it looks cool anyway.”
